Biography: Born to a mother of British origin and a father of Kashmiri Indian origin, one of 8 siblings, Katrina Kaif was born in Hong Kong. She lived most of her life in Hawaii after which she  moved to London during her early teens. She started off her modeling career at 14, with a jewellery campaign and soon became the face of Lakme. And not too long after that Kaizad Gustad offered her Boom in 2003.

Katrina Kaif has transformed herself from a non hindi speaking model to one of the busiest actoresses today. She’s certainly worked hard, from dubbing for Namaste London herself, to learning Kathak and practicing the dance everyday for 7 hours nonstop – the actress has been working very hard at her Bollywood career! Katrina Kaif, real name Katrina Turquotte (born 16 July 1984) is a British Indian actress and former model who appears in Indian films, mainly in the Hindi-language film industry, also known as Bollywood. She has also appeared in Telugu and Malayalam films. She was voted the sexiest Asian woman in the world by Eastern Eye in the years 2008, 2009 and 2010. Being a British citizen, she works in India on an employment visa.

Katrina Kaif made her acting debut with Kaizad Gustad‘s box office bomb Boom (2003). Later, Katrina Kaif made appearances in moderately successful films such as Sarkar (2005) and Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya (2005), for which she garnered recognition in the industry and outside the industry. In 2006, Katrina Kaif was largely appreciated for her role as Jia A. Yashvardhan in the film Humko Deewana Kar Gaye.

The successful phase in Katrina Kaif‘s career started in the year of 2007 with Vipul Shah’s Namastey London becoming successful commercially. She was nominated a second time in 2012, for her depiction of Dimple, a bubbly and vivacious girl in the highly successful Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. In addition to lead roles, Kaif has also garnered recognition for her item numbers such as “Zara Zara Touch Me” from Race (2008), “Sheila Ki Jawani” from Tees Maar Khan (2010) and “Chikni Chameli” from Agneepath (2012). Having done so, Kaif has thus established herself as a leading contemporary actress in Bollywood.
